The Fineline Artists
Mike Bakaty began tattooing on Manhattan's Lower East Side in 1976. There was a ban on tattooing in the city that had been in effect since 1962. Working "underground" out of a Bowery studio, he built a clientele solely by word of mouth. FINELINE TATTOO WAS BORN.
Mehai Bakaty has had continuous interaction with tattooing since the age of four, by ten he was building needles, and at 16 he performed his first tattoo.
